Veterinary Nursing Auxiliaries
The job of an auxiliary nurse is to support our vets and registered veterinary nurses in caring for our patients. We are now looking for two very special people to join our team, who look after patients at our Hexham site 24 hours a day.
1. One position is to work on a shift basis, with early shifts starting at 6.30am and late shifts finishing at 9.30pm.
2. The second role is to cover Night shifts from 9.30pm – 6.30 am; with a shift pattern of 5 on/5 off.
The role includes preparing wards and kennels, assisting vets with consultations, providing in-patient and day patient care; supporting in the operating theatre; monitoring patients in recovery; managing consent forms and patient records; keeping the wards clean, safe and tidy; answering the phone, assisting on reception, managing appointments and diaries and much more. You will become a skilled and valued member of our team and enjoy a rewarding and important job.
Experience with handling animals is essential, as is computer literacy and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

A Veterinary receptionist's job is varied and interesting and having the right people on our front line is crucial to the smooth running of the Practice.
