The Staff are caring and empathetic. We have been customers for the past 6 years, with various beloved pets. They have always tried their best for our pets, whether needing surgery, dealing with chronic conditions or just helpful advice. The fact that they are also a 24 hour operation is reassuring. We had our lovely dog put to sleep today. Despite the social distancing measures, they made a sad day for us much easier. The vet (Sophie I think), and the nurses were brilliant and we are so grateful to them.

An amazing practice. I foster Cats Protection and the vets have cared for two terminal, one renal and three fighting fit beasties who have moved on to their adoptive homes. They care for the owner as much as the animal. The reception team go beyond the job description to help. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I decided to use Scott Mitchell Vets after feeling somewhat disappointed with my initial choice of vets. I'd seen some excellent recommendations so registered with my closet practice which is Tow Law. From my first phone call with them I was impressed with their friendly and professional manner. I wasn't disappointed when I took my puppy for her final vaccination and check up. The friendliness was great. The young girl who dealt with us was just lovely. She was extremely busy but kept taking the time to reassure those having to wait outside (due to covid restrictions) that they would be seen asap and thanked them for their patience. She also appeared to know the name of every owner and their pet, which I think is a lovely touch.
​On Saturday 24th April I needed to take my puppy to be seen by a vet, following a little mishap (my grandson dropped her). I had waited overnight but felt concerned as she was not herself and yelped loudly when trying to climb stairs etc. I had to take her to Hexham as Tow Law was closed. The vet took her and thoroughly examined her. He returned with the good news that she had done no real harm and they couldn't find any injury. I took her home to rest and sure enough she is getting back to her bouncy self, after some rest. I was so impressed that the vet did not "make a meal" of my concerns. I'm sure a less honest vet would have x-rayed, scanned and given anti inflammatory injections, followed by a huge bill. It is so refreshing to know that Scott Mitchell Vets put the welfare of the animals before their bank balance. I could not recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much
